Agreement between Kalisz and Greater Poland elders on mutual financial settlements

The elders of the Greater Poland province declared to pay 16,000 zlotys to the Kalisz community (200 red zlotys; and they were to pay 12,400 for four years, which the Kalisz Jews were to receive annually by assignations of 130 ducats; after 5 years the land elders were to give them assignations for the best cities that the Jews of Kalisz choose). Kalisz elders promised to sign a receipt at the Leszno estate chancellery, as well as to delete all convictions in absentia against the Leszno community in the Kalisz castle court and the Crown Tribunal. The Kalisz Jews were also take away all the papers from the heirs of Maciej Borzęcki, the Kalisz sub-viovode, and hand them over to the poviat elders, and if it turned out to be impossible, to invalidate them in the castle court. The assignations were to be returned in September during the allocation of the Jewish poll tax. Similarly, provincial elders should withdraw all suits and convictions in absentia, infamies, papers, and documents acknowledging debts against the Kalisz community.
